Jerri the Tortie Cat is looking for love and a new home.

Jerri is a Dark Tortie Girl looking for love.

I' like to introduce you to Jerri who is a stunning little dark Tortoiseshell cat who has found herself looking for a new home after her owners emigrated.

Jerri is a sweet, affectionate little lady who at 13 years of age is looking for somewhere to call home where laps and cuddles are available in abundance.

Although 13 years in age Jerri far from looks her age and she is in perfect health with many more years ahead of her.

Jerri loves nothing more than curling up on your knee for lots of cuddles and it doesn't take much encouragement to get her purr-engine started. Whilst this wonderful little cat has only been with us for a few short days she has already won us round with her fantastic, loving nature.
We would like to place Jerri in a quieter home with no young children. She is perfectly suited to older children and has been around dogs in the past so should adapt quite well.
Jerri has lived with other cats however does seem to settle better with female cats rather than males.

Jerri is a cat who would be ideally suited as a companion cat for either a single person or a couple as she has so much love to give the right person and her new family.

Jerri would be suited to either an indoor only home or an indoor / outdoor home where she could potter in the garden for short spells and return to the house for more cuddles and a cosy place to sleep.

Trixie is looking for a home

Trixie is a 2 year old, female tortoiseshell cat.

Trixie has been with us for a few weeks as we attempted to trace her owners. Sadly this has proved futile and she is now looking for a new forever home to go to once she has been neutered and ready to leave us at Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue.

Trixe is a cat with the most gorgeous markings throughout her coat and is a lovely mix of browns, tans and black with little white feet and soft green eyes.

As colourful as her coat is her character is very colourful too. She is full of character, as most tortie cats are but Trixie is very cheeky and full of fun. She loves nothing more than lots of attention and cuddles and will push herself against your hand so hard that if you take your hand away she will fall over!

Trixe is a cat who loves to play as well as give you affection and cuddles and isn't shy or slow in telling you that she's not finished if you try to walk away! She is a very loving cat who would make a perfect companion for someone living on their own or as part of a family with older children.

Trixie can be strong willed (not in a bad way) and may be better suited to someone who has previous experience with cats. Alternatively someone who can lay down the rules and stick to them would be an advantage to help keep Trixie's cheeky side in check!

We believe that Trixie would be OK in a multi cat household but where Trixie is the first cat (top cat) in the home.

We do not know what Trixie is like with Dogs.
We would recommend households with older children (not toddlers) for Trixie.

Trixie would be suited to either an indoor & outdoor home or an indoor only home given the correct stimulus.
Indoor / Outdoor homes will require to be away from very busy roads and consideration given to cat proofing your garden or a cat run is always beneficial to ensure the safety of your new cat. Please ask staff for further details on these matters.

Homing Buzz & Update @ Sunny Harbour

We are thrilled that we have been experiencing a homing buzz in the last few weeks especially in light of the number of adult cats we have homed. This of course is fantastic news for the cats at Sunny Harbour albeit it makes life rather hectic for us, but at the end of the day it is always what's best for the cats that comes first. This week alone has seen another 4 cats go to their new homes with yet another leaving us this evening.

On an exciting note for the rescue we have finally managed to raise the funds to purchase the materials needed for the new pen areas which are currently under construction by my wonderful hubby Paul. These new areas will give the cats much more room to move around as well as being beneficial on a practical level and designed with hygiene control in mind which is always key in any rescue environment.

On a more 'sad' note however we have started to see an increase in the number of calls for kittens for xmas... something which I don't think will ever go away no matter how much we relay the message that animals are not gifts to be given as presents at any time of year!

We have a number of updates on the main website at http://www.sunnyharbour.org.uk including our Xmas 2008 appeal for toys, food and or money to help us make this Xmas special for the cats we have in care during this time of year. We all love pressie's at Xmas and so do the little one's in our care and what better way to treat them than to give them new scratchers, toys and a lovely bit of turkey too! they all deserve to be spoilt so much especially after the traumatic ordeals many of them have gone through.
